All Veterans Memorial Emporia, Kansas
We Honor and Support Our Troops!
The All Veterans Memorial was the first memorial in the nation to honor all veterans from all wars. The memorial was dedicated on May 26, 1991. The park features a World War II M-4A6 Sherman army tank and a memorial to Sgt. Grant Timmerman from Emporia, Kansas. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for giving his life in order to save his crew. The medal was presented to his parents on 8 July 1945. In January 1946 the Navy named one of its new destroyers, The USS Timmerman, after Sgt Timmerman. The "Vietnam Veterans Memorial" was dedicated March 29, 2001, with a Huey helicopter from the Vietnam War. 
 The All Veterans Memorial is located at Soden Road from S. Commercial in Emporia, Kansas.
When you see a service member in uniform, please take the time to go up to them, shake their hand and tell them you appreciate their service to our country. These folks have been placed in harms way on numerous occasions and probably will see more action during the months ahead! They will appreciate your action and comments more than you know!
